new_pic_KonstantinosI am inspired by Yoga because I came to it through a lifelong journey that started in 1989. I started my studies on Yoga & philosophy from the United States in the 90’s while I was studying Sports and Health science. Then I traveled to India and Thailand to enhance and diversify my learning on Yoga as well as many different traditional healing techniques.

My exposure to eastern influences and western training has led me to combine the best that each tradition has to offer for the benefit of my students. Because I understand the pressures of modern living I am also able to offer Yogic training that fully takes into account those pressures so that those who attend my workshops, seminars and classes find the balance that’s right for them.

Yoga was an awakening for me. It taught me to be more in touch with myself, my body and my mind. Breath gives me life. By being attentive to my breath and improving it’s quality through yoga practice, I found improvement in all levels and aspects of life. Along the way, I was inspired by the ways I have seen yoga transform lives and bodies, including my own. My motivation to start teaching was the desire to share with others all the good things that happened to me through the years I’ve been practicing Yoga. I am inspired to share what I have learned both physically and philosophically from the many wonderfull yoga teachers I worked with.

Dedicated practice and a commitment to continuous learning is my drive. It has helped me to deepen my knowledge. I am honored to share these teachings and practices; and consider a great gift in life when a small light is passed on to others though me.

Muge Konuralp

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAYoga directed me to a completely new path as a human being. In the beginning Yoga for me, was a kind of sport activity, but  as time passed i realized that it guided me to change my perspective towards life and I wanted to study in depth this ancient mystique science.

The more I practiced Yoga, I realized that I was working on a different level. There were alterations in my body, soul and behavior. As a result, I put aside all the dense sport activities and I decided to redefine and improve myself. Thankfully, I finally figured out that the essence of life is to find inner balance and to realize the beautiful miracles of life.

The first Yoga certificate I had was for 200 hours in Mysore, India, on Ashtanga Yoga. Later, after following courses in the Himalayan Iyengar Center, I attended courses of Ayurvedic nutrition, Yin Yoga with Sarah Powers, Immersion II of Anusara with Ross Rayburn and Yoga on Swings with Alexandra Rossopoulou.

In addition, I completed 200 hours of training with Chris Chavez, “Path to Teaching”. Except from the previous training I attained a certificate of Hatha Yoga with Urun Kutric, Yara Leite Goulart Ulcay, Uma Jyoti, Ken the Rolfer and Michael Saunder.

One of the most recent teacher training was the Anusara Yoga “Skill of Teaching”, with Kostantinos Charantiniotis and Tara Judelle. Last but not least, is my training on Therapeutics Yoga with Peter Goodman.

Despite my certificates and trainings in Yoga, I received the Initiation to practice the Babaji’s Kriya Yoga OM Healing Blessing from Saraswati Karuna Devi.

In the path of student and teacher that I am following, I try with all my heart to share the belief that: “Yoga is a way of personal development, a way to come closer to your true self. Yoga is a way of healing, as it helps us know and love ourselves, allowing us to find an equilibrium between our environment and the Universe.”

In my opinion, teaching yoga is something more than being a simple teacher; it is a blissful chance to share the tools, knowledge, we need in the common path that we follow in our lives.

Vasilis Mavromatis

Είμαι στο χώρο της γιόγκα τα τελευταία 12 χρόνια. Προέρχομαι από τον χώρο της καλαθοσφαίρισης (basket-ball) έχοντας καριέρα σε εθνικές κατηγορίες 25 έτη. Κλείνοντας τον πρώτο μεγάλο κύκλο της ζωής μου σταματώντας το μπάσκετ ανακάλυψα το επόμενο μεγάλο βήμα. Τη γιόγκα.

Ξεκινώντας ως ένα είδος εναλλακτικής άσκησης κατέληξε να γίνει τρόπος ζωής για μένα. Είναι ο τρόπος γυμναστικής μου αλλά και το εργαλείο για να ανακαλύπτω τον εαυτό μου. Η καθημερινή μου πρακτική με βοηθάει πνευματικά και σωματικά να βρίσκομαι σε ισορροπία και ευεξία, αλλά και να εμπνέομαι στη ζωή.

Έκανα το πρώτο μου εκπαιδευτικό 200 ωρών με το σύστημα Yoga Works και ακολούθησε το δεύτερο επίσης 200 ωρών με τον δάσκαλο και φίλο μου Κωνσταντίνο Χαραντινιώτη. Δεν υπάρχουν λόγια για όλα όσα έζησα, μόνο εμπειρία, βίωμα.

Ξεκίνησα να διδάσκω γιόγκα το 2013, κάνοντας αυτό που μου αρέσει πολύ, θέλοντας να μοιραστώ και να βοηθήσω όσο περισσότερο κόσμο μπορώ με τις γνώσεις μου.

Ανήκω σ΄ αυτό που πολλοί ονομάζουν εναλλακτικό χώρο. Προσωπικά θα τον χαρακτήριζα φυσικό χώρο. Ως επαγγελματίας είμαι ομοιοπαθητικός και φυσικοπαθητικός. Πολλές θεωρίες αλλά και εφαρμογές είναι παρόμοιες σε αυτούς τους χώρους, αφού συμπίπτουν έχοντας τόσα πολλά κοινά. Είναι μεγάλη ευχαρίστηση να μοιράζομαι με τους μαθητές μου αυτά τα οποία συνεχίζω να μαθαίνω και ανακαλύπτω από όλους αυτούς τους χώρους, όλα αυτά τα χρόνια.

Θέλω να ευχαριστήσω από καρδιάς όλους τους δασκάλους μου, συναδέλφούς μου, αλλά και τους μαθητές μου, που με έχουν βοηθήσει τόσο πολύ στο να εξελιχθώ μέσα στην όμορφη κοινότητα της γιόγκα.

Αιώνιος μαθητής και λάτρης της μάθησης ή αλλιώς “γηράσκω αεί διδασκόμενος”…

Asimakis Faltakas

Asimakis Faltakas Bhavana Yoga Over-stressed and overworked from a job in advertising, Asimakis dropped-in in a yoga class in 2007 and has been passionately practicing yoga ever since. The practice and philosophy of Yoga was a wake-up call for his body, mind and spirit. Quitting his job he found himself studying and then practicing massage therapy and energy healing and later on, in the beginning of 2012 he traveled to India to take a Hatha Yoga Teachers Training course.

He started teaching Yoga straight after that, while he also kept searching for deeper practice himself. In September 2012 he discovered Anusara Yoga at Bhavana Yoga Center following Konstantinos Charantiniotis classes. The Anusara style of yoga has been a great inspiration and an exceptional tool for practice and self discovery for him. He has attended workshops and masterclasses with great teachers from all over the world (Tara Judelle, Todd Tessen, Jaye Martin, Todd Norian, Simon Borg-Olivier, Leslie Kaminoff).

In Summer 2013 he completed his Anusara Yoga Teacher Training with Konstantinos Charantiniotis and Tara Judelle.

Christina Karkania

Christina_karkania_photoI was born in Athens, in 1979. I studied Law, at the University of Athens, and Social Anthropology, at SOAS, University of London.

I started practicing yoga on a volcanic beach ten years ago; this is still my favourite place to practice.

It started off as a game – and a desire to see the world upside down – and that is a feeling I wish to nurture and share as my practice progresses and expands.

Currently, my focus is to remove any obstacles in my breath, movement, thought and action, so as to experience greater freedom.

What I wish to conquer through my practice is a joyful balance between the calm simplicity of an ascetic practice and the lust for life.

Since I believe that yoga is essentially one practice – with as many faces as practitioners – I practice and teach hatha yoga, the yoga of the union. My teaching is oriented towards the enhancement of the students’ awareness, of their breath, movement, thought.

I obtained my 200hours Yoga Teacher Training Certificate at Bhavana School, Athens, by Konstantinos Charantiniotis, where -among so many other things- I learned to be more conscious about both my movement and my words.

I believe in everyday practice -with or without teacher- combining movement, breath, meditation and philosophy, in a constant process of evolution.

Stella Samartzi

21442923_10154892451646918_226632474_nI was born in Argos, Greece. For almost a decade, since I was 5 years old, I was involved in Rhythmic Gymnastics, which is a very challenging sport that helped me progress to the person I am today.

For more than 18 years I have been working hard in the Advertising Sector. The main aspects of my daily operations include Human Resources Management, Marketing Strategy and Client Support. On my “spare time” I have been always practicing sports, pilates and ballet. This has helped me develop my working skills too.

I was introduced to Yoga 14 years ago and for the last 6 years it has been my daily activity, which helps me educate and improve myself both physically and mentally. I have participated in a lot of seminars, yoga retreats and workshops. However the highlight of my Yoga-journey is a travel to India where I decided to attend the “Teacher Training 200h” along with my teacher Konstantinos Charantiniotis at Bhavana Yoga Center.

The most important aspect of Yoga has been my daily practice, which helps me and awakens body & spirit for better understand the philosophy of yoga.

The purpose of my life is the constant and continuous education and the opportunity to share all this with the world around me.

Vasiliki Demetropoulou

IMG_0053(1)For the last 10 years I live and work in Athens, after I finished my studies at TEFAA – Democritus University of Thrace, where I focused on the subject of Adjustive Exercise.

I love very much what I do and my ultimate goal is to improve the quality of people’s lives through exercise.

The constant search for new sources of knowledge, not only for my job but on a personal level too, led me to the path of Yoga. So, three years ago a magic trip of self improvement started. I chose Konstantinos Charantiniotis as my teacher because he inspired me to change my way of life and so I finished the Teacher Training 200h with him.

Always believing that a good teacher is the not the one that only has good knowledge on the subject, but the one that through this knowledge has firstly “healed” himself, I want through Yoga to share with people around me, my own personal self improvement experience.

Practicing on a daily level I find the inspiration and I teach from my heart each class.

This is my life motto in general: “Live each day from your heart and let her lead you to every deep desire”.
